Why, Why, Why?: Dental Sedation

When you’re investigating any type of new topic, particularly one that applies to your physical well being in some way, it is absolutely normal to have a lot of questions. As you are likely already well aware, many of these questions are going to begin with “why.” We, of course, would like for you to feel exceptional about making choices for your smile and about receiving dental care, which is why we offer dental sedation (and why we are also more than happy to give you all of the information you need).

Why Doesn’t Everyone Use The Same Sedation?

Everyone does not use the exact same dental sedation because not everyone has identical needs or preferences. For instance, some patients experience extreme dental anxiety, for which they desire the strongest type of sedation. Others simply don’t want to end up gagging during dental care but need just a bit of a boost in relaxation to be able to enjoy visits. Others need to be able to receive very gentle sedation, so they may get back to class or work.

Why Don’t My Friends Use Sedation?

Your friends might have a very different perspective on dental care, they may have had very different experiences growing up, and they may simply have different emotional reactions to smile care. Remember that just because others do not require dental sedation does not mean that it is something you should feel bad about. Embrace it! It’s something that helps you protect your smile. Have questions for us? Just ask!
